BILLEASE BANK REBRANDS AND APPOINTS EX-BSP DEPUTY GOVERNOR TO BOARD

MANILA, Philippines — Rural banking institution BillEase Bank Inc. has formally rebranded under a unified identity to consolidate its digital services and accelerate financial inclusion across the Philippines.

The name change integrates the bank’s operations directly with the broader BillEase fintech ecosystem. By operating under a single brand, the firm aims to deliver a seamless user experience, granting customers access to credit, savings, and deposit accounts through a single digital platform.

Alongside the rebranding, the bank restructured its leadership team to strengthen corporate governance and risk management.

Former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Deputy Governor Eduardo Bobier has been elected as an Independent Director, pending final approval from the central bank.

Bobier brings over 30 years of central banking experience to the board, having previously led the BSP’s Corporate Services Sector. His career at the central bank includes roles as Assistant Governor, Managing Director of the Comptrollership Sub-sector, Chief Investment Analytics Officer, and Chief Reserve Management Officer.

Georg Steiger, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of BillEase, noted that the unified branding marks a key phase in reaching underbanked communities.

“Bringing the Bank under the BillEase name is a natural next step in our mission to expand access to responsible financial services for underbanked Filipinos,” Steiger stated.

“A unified brand allows us to offer a more complete suite of financial products from credit to savings and deposits under one roof, helping more Filipinos build stronger financial futures,” he added.

Dennis Valdes, President and Chief Executive Officer of BillEase Bank, emphasized the importance of executive experience as the bank expands its market presence.

“This is an important milestone for our institution as we adopt the BillEase Bank name and continue building a stronger, more resilient organization,” Valdes said.

“As one unified brand, we’re better positioned to bring relevant, responsible financial services to more Filipinos and support their financial wellness. Mr. Bobier’s decades of experience in central banking, treasury, and institutional oversight will be a valuable addition to our Board as we strengthen our governance framework and support our long-term growth,” he added.
