QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has rolled out 73 new police motorcycles across Metro Manila to boost emergency response capabilities and bypass heavy traffic.
Announced Wednesday, September 23, the strategic deployment aims to ensure faster response times for public calls placed to the 911 emergency hotline.
The vehicles were distributed to strategic areas within major city police districts:
- Manila: 18 units
- Pasay: 18 units
- Taguig: 14 units
- Quezon City: 13 units
- Pasig: 10 units
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano highlighted the necessity of agile transport in life-threatening situations where traffic congestion often causes delays.
“Every second matters during an emergency. These additional motorcycles will give our responders greater mobility and allow them to reach people in distress as quickly as possible,” Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano said.
“When the public calls 911, we want our response to be fast, coordinated, and reliable. These motorcycles will help us navigate traffic and bring police assistance closer to the community,” he added.
Abrahano instructed local police commanders to position the motorcycle units in key locations for immediate dispatch, noting that the new units will support existing patrol cars and foot patrols. He also reminded the public to assist dispatchers during emergencies.
“We ask the public to help us help them. When calling 911, stay calm, provide the correct details, and follow the instructions of our emergency responders,” the NCRPO head said.
