MANILA, Philippines — Three Kapuso programs have received extensions from GMA Network following what the network described as strong audience reception, allowing them to remain part of its programming lineup beyond their original schedules.
The afternoon teleserye “Born to Shine” and the primetime action series “Taskforce Firewall” have both secured extensions that will keep them on air into next year.
Based on National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) data, the two GMA Network programs have continued to perform strongly in television ratings, posting an advantage over their respective competitors.
“Born to Shine” currently goes head-to-head with TV5’s inspirational drama “My Bespren Emman,” while “Taskforce Firewall” competes against ABS-CBN’s romantic-comedy revenge series “Someone Someday,” with both rival programs also available through the free television platforms of their respective networks.
Starting October 5, “Born to Shine” will face a new competitor with the arrival of TV5 Entertainment’s romantic-comedy series “Mommy Guard,” which will also be carried on ABS-CBN and TV5 platforms.
Meanwhile, GMA Network’s “The Master Cutter” has already secured a new season despite having only three weeks remaining in its current run.
NUTAM figures also show the Dingdong Dantes-led series ahead of ABS-CBN’s romantic-comedy action series “Coco Martin’s Sigabo” in their timeslot.
“Born to Shine” airs at 2:30 p.m., while the final three weeks of “The Master Cutter” are scheduled at 8 p.m. and “Taskforce Firewall” at 8:45 p.m. on GMA-7. The three programs are also available through Kapuso Stream and GMA Pinoy TV for international viewers.
“The Master Cutter” airs simultaneously on GMA Network and its sister channel GTV at 8 p.m., while “Taskforce Firewall” gets a delayed telecast on GTV at 10:45 p.m.
