QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Renowned actress and TV host Kris Aquino is preparing for a return to scripted acting, with a micro-drama project currently under development.
The “Queen of All Media” revealed that the upcoming production’s exact genre and format remain under discussion, though she favors horror as a top candidate. Comedy and reality-based concepts are also on the table.
When asked about her physical limitations given her ongoing health battle, Aquino offered a lighthearted take regarding her willingness to stretch her boundaries.
”The higher the pay, the more they will see,” she said with a laugh.
Should the project feature a male lead, Aquino already has a clear choice in mind for her co-star: actor Ian Veneracion.
”I work very well with him, and he is a true professional,” she said.
This potential comeback marks another milestone in her gradual return to the spotlight after stepping back from full-time entertainment work to treat several autoimmune illnesses.
Recently, she began taking on select brand endorsements and promotional projects, including a widely covered Netflix Philippines campaign in August.
While Aquino expressed hope to step up her professional commitments in 2027, she emphasized that her work schedule remains secondary to her physical needs. Nevertheless, staying productive has proven beneficial to her overall wellness.
”I noticed that when I am active, I am happy. And when I am happy, health-wise, I notice that my blood pressure is nicer. And then, even my skin, I feel it’s better,” she said.
Aquino expressed deep appreciation for supporters who regularly keep her in their prayers.
Despite her lingering medical concerns, she reaffirmed her commitment to live fully and embrace career opportunities whenever her health permits.
