CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office-3 (PRO-3) formally acquired 48 brand-new motorcycles on Wednesday to strengthen rapid emergency operations across Central Luzon.
The fleet was blessed and handed over during an official ceremony at the regional headquarters, led by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., and PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez.
According to Mendez, the newly assigned vehicles will directly bolster the Unified 911 Emergency Response System—the national emergency hotline linking citizens to police, fire, medical, and rescue teams.
The addition of these motorbikes is slated to improve responder maneuverability, particularly when navigating heavily congested roadways and tight locations inaccessible to standard emergency vehicles. Mendez noted that the fleet provides responders with an additional vital option for quickly reaching citizens during critical situations.
In his address to the recipient units, Mendez stressed the necessity of proper maintenance and strategic positioning to guarantee the motorcycles remain operational and accessible where demand is highest.
The vehicle turnover aligns with the DILG’s Safer Cities Initiative and the PNP’s core operational agenda, both aimed at maximizing public resources, heightening police presence, and upgrading community emergency assistance throughout the region.
