MANILA, Philippines — Polish President Karol Nawrocki is set to visit the Philippines from October 5 to 8 for an official state visit, marking a historical milestone as the first Polish head of state to visit the Southeast Asian country.
According to a statement released by Malacañang, the upcoming high-level visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand key partnerships between both nations across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
The bilateral discussions between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and President Nawrocki will cover defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, information and communications technology, legal cooperation, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Both leaders are also expected to discuss pressing regional and international matters.
The state visit builds on momentum from recently established diplomatic frameworks, including the inaugural meeting of the Philippines-Poland Joint Defense Cooperation Committee in Warsaw in July 2026, followed by the seventh Philippines-Poland Political Consultations hosted in Manila in September 2026.
Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Poland were officially established on September 22, 1973. Poland has since emerged as the Philippines’ 28th-largest trading partner in 2025 and currently hosts an estimated population of 25,000 Overseas Filipino Workers.
The engagement also follows Poland’s recent accession to the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in July 2026, alongside Lithuania, Romania, and Sweden, during the 50th anniversary commemorative activities held in Manila under the Philippines’ ASEAN chairship.
Both governments aim to leverage these mechanism efforts to bolster security ties, trade relations, and broader economic and technical cooperation during the four-day visit.
