SAN JUAN CITY, Philippines — Young talent, dedication, and high energy took center stage at the Music Museum during the inaugural K-Pop Rising Star Search Manila, co-organized by SM Universe Singapore and Sky Dance Avenue Manila.
The event brought together aspiring performers aged 7 to 18 from over 10 cities across the Philippines, competing in both K-Pop Vocal and K-Pop Dance categories. Each contestant was given 60 seconds to demonstrate their technical mastery, stage presence, and passion.
Singaporean Ambassador Constance See attended the event to present awards to top performers and lauded the contestants for their hard work.
“It takes courage to perform before an audience, and hours of practice to make it look effortless,” Ambassador See remarked during the program.
The showcase culminated in the announcement of the first-ever scholarship recipients, Jaynee Ong and Tory Galongca, who impressed judges with their vocal ability and star appeal.
As grand prize winners, Ong and Galongca received a one-week training scholarship at SM Universe Singapore valued at up to USD 1,300, giving them the opportunity to undergo professional instruction and advance their aspirations in the international K-pop industry.
