QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Celebrity couple Zanjoe Marudo and Ria Atayde are preparing for a new addition to their household as they expect their second child together.
Marudo casually shared the news during a recent media gathering, catching reporters off guard with a brief update on his wife’s status.
“Buntis si Ria hindi lang namin ina-announce,” the actor stated.
Surprised by the offhand delivery, reporters prompted the actor to clarify whether he was joking, to which he confirmed that Atayde is indeed pregnant again. Marudo expressed gratitude for the news, viewing the upcoming arrival as another blessing for their household.
The couple previously welcomed their first child, Sabino, in 2024, who will soon assume the role of an older brother.
When pressed for details regarding the baby’s gender, Marudo chose to keep the specifics under wraps for the time being.
“Naku saka na natin i-announce,” he remarked.
He added that he has no specific preference for the baby’s sex, saying, “Kahit ano, babae o lalaki.”
