MANILA NORTH CEMETERY SETS RULES AND DEADLINES FOR UNDAS 2026

MANILA, Philippines — Management at the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) has released its official schedule and safety regulations for Undas 2026, advising the public to complete all tomb preparation work ahead of the holiday.

Under the MNC advisory, tomb repainting, structural repairs, and routine maintenance are permitted only until October 27. Interments will be allowed through October 28, after which burial operations will temporarily cease.

From October 29 through November 2, the gates will open for visitors daily between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. To ensure unhindered foot traffic, a total ban on all vehicular entry will be enforced throughout the grounds during this five-day period. Standard cemetery services and operations are set to resume on November 3.

Authorities also highlighted a strict list of prohibited items to ensure public safety and preserve decorum across the property.

Visitors are barred from bringing sharp tools such as cutters, knives, and spatulas, as well as alcoholic drinks and flammable substances like thinner and rubbing alcohol. Pets, including dogs and cats, are not allowed inside.

To maintain peaceful surroundings, sound equipment, loud speakers, and guitars will be confiscated at entry points. Gambling materials and paraphernalia are likewise forbidden.

The management explained that these security measures aim to maintain order, public safety, and a respectful atmosphere while accommodating the expected surge of visitors paying tribute to their deceased relatives.

Public cooperation with the guidelines is strongly encouraged to guarantee a smooth and peaceful observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
