MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Bank (PNB), acting through its Trust Banking Group, has forged a strategic tie-up with Luna Securities Inc. aimed at broadening access to retirement investments for Filipinos via online channels.
According to a company statement released on Thursday, October 8, Luna Securities, an accredited administrator for the Personal Equity and Retirement Account (PERA), will distribute PNB’s retirement products on its digital investment platform.
The joint effort underscores both entities’ goal of promoting financial inclusion and helping citizens build long-term wealth. It also aligns with PNB’s initiative to expand its investment footprint across online distribution networks.
By leveraging modern technology, the collaboration seeks to streamline the entire investment process, allowing users to open accounts and manage redemptions seamlessly online.
Furthermore, the initiative intends to boost public awareness of the PERA scheme—the national voluntary retirement savings program designed to encourage long-term wealth growth through tax perks and financial incentives.
“This partnership represents an important step in expanding access to PERA and encouraging more Filipinos to start investing for retirement,” said Jiah Santos, PNB senior vice president and chief trust officer.
Santos added, “By combining PNB’s investment management expertise with Luna Securities’ digital capabilities, we can make retirement investing more accessible, convenient, and relevant to today’s investors.”
Luna Securities likewise expressed enthusiasm for the deal, noting a shared mission to democratize investment and retirement solutions through tech-driven distribution methods.
The initiative forms part of PNB’s overarching plan to scale its investment division by introducing innovative products and expanding strategic distribution networks.
Through this alliance, PNB and Luna Securities hope to make long-term financial security more attainable for more Filipinos preparing for retirement.
