MICHAEL V. RETURNS TO HOSTING ROOTS AS GUEST HOST OF GMA-7’S FAMILY FEUD

MANILA, Philippines — Comedy icon Michael V. is making a return to hosting after his last hosting stint in 2018 through “Lip Sync Battle PH,” this time stepping in as guest host of GMA-7’s pre-primetime game show “Family Feud.”

The Kapuso comedy genius shared that one of the things he enjoys most about hosting is the opportunity to interact with people, particularly contestants and guests he has yet to meet.

“Ang nakaka-excite dito sa pagho-host is the interaction with the people, yung mga kakilala ko given na yun pero yung mga hindi ko pa kakilala ayun yung mga nakakakuha ka ng idea sa kanila and nakikilala mo pa sila further,” he said.

Michael V., popularly known in the entertainment industry as “Bitoy,” was tapped to temporarily take over the hosting duties from Dingdong Dantes. However, he admitted that accepting the assignment was not an immediate decision because of his commitments to his other programs.

“Fortunately yung mga tao dito sa ‘Family Feud’, staff and crew, yung mga executive producer ng ‘Bubble Gang,’ and ‘Pepito Manaloto,’ magkakakilala naman sila and naayos naman yung schedule,” he shared.

Despite the additional responsibility, Michael described the hosting opportunity as a welcome change and even admitted that he has some envy for Dingdong’s role on the popular game show.

“Pero okay lang at least natikman ko, yun pa lang very thankful na ako,” he added.

Known for his signature wit and comedic timing, Michael also revealed that he adjusted his usual humor while hosting the show, turning to what he jokingly described as “dad jokes.”

“Yes, medyo nag tone down ako na parang papunta na sa dad jokes, pero okay lang kasi marami pa rin sa mga kapuso natin yung nakaka-appreciate ng ganung humor,” he said.

When asked who he would like to see compete on “Family Feud,” Michael named Dingdong and his family as his dream matchup.

“Dream ko na match-up is yung family ko and yung family ni Dong, parang masaya siguro yun especially kapag babalik na siya,” he added.

Michael V.’s guest-hosting stint marks another opportunity for the veteran comedian to reconnect with his hosting roots while bringing his distinct brand of humor to the Kapuso game show.
