ABS-CBN AND TV5 TEAM UP TO CO-PRODUCE ASAP XP

PAMPANGA, Philippines — ABS-CBN Studios and TV5 have entered a co-production partnership for ASAP XP, bringing the popular Sunday musical variety program back to TV5 starting October 18, as both networks strengthen their collaboration in Philippine entertainment.

The agreement was formalized during a ceremonial signing at an ASAP XP event in Pampanga on October 11. The partnership marks a new chapter for the two media companies, with TV5 taking part in the show’s production alongside ABS-CBN.

Representatives from both organizations attended the event. ABS-CBN was represented by Chairman Mark Lopez, President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes, and Chief Partnership Officer Bobby Barreiro. TV5 was represented by Chairman Manuel Pangilinan, MediaQuest President and CEO Victorico Vargas, and TV5 Officer-in-Charge Chaye Cabal-Revilla.

Pangilinan welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to strengthen the local entertainment industry and expand opportunities for Filipino performers.

“We believe that working together makes the Philippine entertainment industry stronger, creates more opportunities for Filipino artists, and allows us to bring quality entertainment to more audiences, wherever they are.”

Cabal-Revilla likewise highlighted the partnership’s foundation of cooperation between the two networks, expressing optimism about the program’s next chapter.

“By bringing together our creative strengths and talents, we have an opportunity to make the show even more exciting and memorable for Filipino audiences. We look forward to working even more closely together, creating fresh performances and new talent combinations that bring Kapatid and Kapamilya viewers together every Sunday.”

The co-production will bring together Kapamilya performers and artists from TV5’s STAR WORX roster, opening opportunities for new stage collaborations and performances. Among those who joined the celebration were Ogie Alcasid, Piolo Pascual, Erik Santos, Darren Espanto, Alexa Ilacad, Robi Domingo, Belle Mariano, and Donny Pangilinan, alongside TV5-affiliated talents.

Under the new arrangement, ASAP XP will air on TV5 every Sunday beginning October 18, simultaneously with its broadcasts on ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and Facebook, as well as iWant and TFC.

The development builds on the legacy of the ASAP franchise, which has entertained Filipino audiences for more than three decades through musical performances, dance productions, and collaborations featuring established stars and emerging artists.

Through this partnership, ABS-CBN and TV5 aim to combine their creative resources and talent pools to deliver more entertainment choices to viewers while creating additional opportunities for Filipino artists across both networks.
