QUEZON CITY — The weather bureau reported that prevailing easterlies will continue to affect weather conditions across parts of Luzon and the Visayas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated in its Tuesday morning bulletin that the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Forecasters warned that these moderate to occasionally heavy rains could trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable locations. Meanwhile, the northeasterly windflow is expected to bring partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains to Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.
Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the remaining areas of Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON will see similar partly cloudy conditions interspersed with isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms, which may likewise produce severe weather hazards.
In addition, PAGASA is monitoring a tropical depression located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), sitting approximately 2,970 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of 3 a.m. The system packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour with gusts reaching up to 70 kph, moving west-northwestward at 15 kph.
The public is advised to stay vigilant and monitor official weather updates for potential flood and landslide warnings.
