MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Mayor Nancy Binay on Sunday, October 18, affirmed that the local government will maintain its strong backing for law enforcement operations focused on maintaining community security and public safety.
The declaration followed her commendation of the Makati City Police Station for successfully capturing all 10 fugitives listed on the district’s most wanted roster for October.
In a briefing submitted to the local chief executive, city police chief Col. Pedro Alagano Jr. reported that the apprehended individuals face multiple serious criminal charges. These include acts of lasciviousness, qualified rape of a minor, syndicated and large-scale illegal recruitment, qualified theft, as well as violations of the New Carnapping Act of 2016, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and firearm regulations.
Praising the police force’s dedication, Binay emphasized the local administration’s ongoing partnership with law enforcement.
“Our police officers play a vital role in maintaining peace and order and protecting the welfare of our constituents. The City Government of Makati will continue to support their efforts to enforce the law, prevent crime and keep our communities safe,” Binay said.
Furthermore, the mayor underscored that community participation remains critical to effective crime prevention. Local authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities or unlawful behavior to the police.
