MANILA — Actress and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Dawn Chang is officially engaged following a surprise marriage proposal from her longtime partner, National Police Commission (Napolcom) Commissioner Atty. Ralph Calinisan.
The proposal unfolded on Saturday, October 17, during an appearance on the game show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”
Overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events, Chang was momentarily speechless before expressing her gratitude to her partner of nearly five years.
”Nawala ‘yung train of thought ko but thank you, thank you for finally asking me,” Dawn said.
The couple’s romance began after Calinisan represented Chang as her legal counsel during her legal battle against showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin. They officially went public with their relationship in October 2022 when Chang posted a birthday greeting for the lawyer on social media.
Prior to the television proposal, Calinisan made a trip to Australia in December 2025 to formally seek the blessings of Chang’s family.
