NCRPO DEPLOYS OVER 13,000 COPS FOR UNDAS SECURITY

MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced on Sunday that it will deploy 13,084 police personnel to ensure public safety and order throughout Metro Manila for the upcoming Undas observance.

NCRPO Police Lieutenant Colonel Hazel Asilo detailed that the security force is composed of 12,459 active NCRPO personnel alongside 625 members from regional support units.

“Ngayon, nakalatag na ‘yung deployment, ‘yung ating coordination sa ating LGUs. Ganun din ‘yung ating security arrangements para sa mga cemetery, transport terminals, at iba pang lugar na inaasahang dadagsain ng ating mga kababayan,” Asilo stated in a radio interview.

Asilo noted that final figures for supporting personnel from other agencies, including the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), are still being consolidated.

In preparation for the holiday rush, the regional police force remains on heightened alert. A skeletal deployment will roll out on October 29 before transitioning to full alert status at 12:01 a.m. on October 30.

Authorities are also actively mapping out high-traffic zones, major gathering points, and key cemeteries to maximize police visibility over the long weekend, while evaluating a potential extension of the full alert status past November 3.

Alongside heavy security deployments, the public has been advised to stay vigilant against opportunistic crimes such as pickpocketing, scams, and disorderly behavior.

Nationwide, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported that more than 111,000 police officers—more than double last year’s manpower—will be mobilized for the holiday. This comprehensive security grid includes 11,782 personnel from auxiliary units and 31,814 force multipliers, consisting of local government employees, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, and PNP advocacy groups assisting with crowd and traffic management.
