Comedian Gil Aducal Morales, widely known as Ate Gay, has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center, prompting his family to launch a public appeal for financial support.
In a social media statement released on Tuesday, October 27, the family shared that the performer has been hospitalized in the ICU for nearly a week. While they did not disclose the specific reason for his current confinement, they reached out to supporters for assistance with his ongoing medical bills while expressing deep appreciation to those who have already extended a helping hand.
Prior to this recent health setback, Ate Gay had provided hopeful updates regarding his battle against stage 4 cancer, which he publicly disclosed in 2025. Generous supporters previously stepped in to ease his financial burdens, with one donor covering his radiation therapy costs at Asian Hospital and another providing a nearby condominium unit for his convenience during treatment.
By November of last year, the comedian announced the successful completion of his chemotherapy and radiation sessions. Subsequent MRI scans in June brought further relief, showing no remaining lumps in his nose and neck areas.
Amid his medical journey, Ate Gay also spent cherished moments with loved ones at a recent gathering he referred to as a “living funeral,” sharing photographs from the event under the caption “Celebration of life.”
As he continues receiving intensive medical care, his family has shared the details of an RCBC savings account on his official social media pages for individuals wishing to extend monetary support.
