After 22 years on air, Tite Kubo’s iconic anime franchise Bleach has officially concluded its broadcast journey with Episode 50 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, titled “Death & Strawberry.” The final episode aired on Monday, October 26, 2026, bringing a definitive close to one of modern anime’s most influential battle shonen epics.
The series finale adapts the original manga’s epilogue, jumping 10 years into the future following the defeat of Yhwach to reveal a peaceful Seireitei.
The episode introduces the next generation of Soul Reapers: Kazui Kurosaki, the son of Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue, alongside Ichika Abarai, the daughter of Renji Abarai and Rukia Kuchiki. The climax highlights Kazui’s latent spiritual gifts as he effortlessly dispels the final lingering remnants of Yhwach’s spirit energy, solidifying lasting peace across the Human World and Soul Society.
To mark the historic broadcast, Studio Pierrot and the production committee released a commemorative ending video set to the franchise’s iconic theme song “Number One.” The tribute features original key animation sketches and concept artwork spanning Bleach’s 22-year television legacy.
Additionally, the team unveiled THE STORIES VISUAL MOVIE, a special retrospective showcasing 15 key visual artworks depicting Ichigo’s evolution throughout the four-part Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation.
Standing alongside Naruto and One Piece as part of Shonen Jump’s legendary “Big Three,” Bleach played a pivotal role in shaping global anime culture throughout the 2000s and beyond.
While the main animated narrative has now reached its conclusion, the franchise’s future remains active through upcoming “Bleach Fes” community events and ongoing speculation regarding potential adaptations of spin-off material. The complete series run and the final episode are currently available for global streaming via Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Disney+.
