TV5 is drawing attention over its growing collaboration with ABS-CBN Studios, prompting questions among netizens about whether the Kapatid Network is becoming increasingly dependent on entertainment content produced by its Kapamilya counterpart.
The latest development came after TV5 Entertainment was confirmed as one of the co-producers of ABS-CBN Studios’ upcoming Christmas special, “Share The Blessings,” scheduled to air in December.
The partnership could also give some of TV5’s homegrown talents an opportunity to appear in the Kapamilya Network’s holiday presentation.
This is not the first time the two companies have joined forces on an entertainment production. TV5 Entertainment previously partnered with ABS-CBN Studios for the Kapamilya primetime variety program “ASAP XP,” which also featured several talents from Star Worx, the Kapatid Network’s talent management agency.
Beyond their production collaborations, several ABS-CBN entertainment programs are currently airing on TV5. These include “Blockbusters sa Umaga,” “Coco Martin’s Sigabo,” “Someone Someday,” “The Loyalty Game,” “Rated Korina,” “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal,” “MMK: Hugot From The Vault” and “Matteo G. Primetime.”
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also airs selected TV5 entertainment productions, including “Gandang Mornings with Ate Koring,” “Mommy Guard” and “Vibe+ Playback.”
The two networks’ renewed partnership came after TV5 restored its content agreement with ABS-CBN following its decision to terminate the arrangement on January 1, 2026, amid a significant decline in its audience share.
With their programming and production ties continuing to expand, the latest collaboration has once again fueled discussions about the extent of ABS-CBN’s influence on TV5’s entertainment lineup and the Kapatid Network’s reliance on content partnerships to strengthen its programming offerings.
