PITX EXPECTS UP TO 190,000 PASSENGERS ON TUESDAY AS UNDAS TRAVELERS RETURN

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) anticipates an influx of 180,000 to 190,000 passengers on Tuesday, November 3, as holidaymakers return from the provinces following the Undas 2026 weekend.

Kolyn Calbasa, PITX senior corporate affairs officer, noted that passenger volume remained relatively low on Monday as many travelers chose to extend their vacations.

“Actually, inaasahan natin ‘yan bukas dahil historically po sa November 2, every time po, medyo kaunti ‘yung pasahero natin dahil yung iba ay nag-extend ng kanilang bakasyon,” Calbasa said in a television interview on Monday, November 2.

She added that Tuesday’s surge will be driven by the simultaneous return of holiday travelers and regular commuters resuming their weekday routines.

“Inaasahan natin by tomorrow na papatak tayo ng at least 180,000 to 190,000 dahil sabay-sabay na po ‘yan ‘yung usual commuters natin for Tuesday and then siyempre, marami pong babalik galing provinces,” she stated.

While PITX operations remained stable on Monday morning, minor bus delays were reported Sunday night due to heavy traffic congestion across Metro Manila, though all scheduled buses successfully departed.

To manage the heavy passenger volume, PITX has partnered with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT). Terminal management is also working closely with bus operators to guarantee a steady supply of vehicles and maintain timely trip turnarounds.

In preparation for the travel rush, PITX reminded commuters to secure tickets exclusively from authorized booths, steer clear of unauthorized colorum vehicles, travel light, and refrain from bringing prohibited items such as sharp objects and flammable materials.
