STAND-UP COMEDIAN ATE GAY PASSES AWAY AT 55

Renowned Filipino stand-up comedian and impersonator Gil Aducal Morales, widely known by his stage name Ate Gay, has passed away at the age of 55. His family announced his death in a statement released on Sunday, November 1.

According to the family, Morales died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. They expressed deep gratitude for the continuous prayers, financial assistance, and emotional support extended to the comedian throughout his health battles, while asking the public to keep him and his grieving family in their thoughts.

Information regarding his wake and funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Morales had been open about his health challenges, publicly disclosing in September 2025 that he was fighting stage 4 cancer and expressing his strong will to live as he sought public support. His condition deteriorated sharply on October 30 after he suffered a stroke that affected the right side of his brain.

He was subsequently diagnosed with septic shock and acute respiratory failure associated with pneumonia.

Prior to his passing, Morales touched hearts in October by holding a “living funeral,” providing a rare and touching opportunity for family and friends to gather, celebrate his life, and pay their respects while he was still with them.
