Mayon Volcano experienced a minor eruption at its summit crater during the early hours of Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Monitoring equipment recorded minor Strombolian activity at 1:15 a.m., captured by the thermal camera at the Upper Lidong Observation Station (VMUL) alongside the RasPi and IP crater cameras located at the Mayon Volcano Observatory on Ligñon Hill (VMLH).
Following the activity, PHIVOLCS maintained Alert Level 3 over the volcano and strongly reminded the public to steer clear of the 6-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone due to potential hazards.
