LRT-2 OFFERS FREE RIDES FOR CHILDREN ON NOV. 4 FOR NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MONTH

Children aged 18 and below can avail of free rides across all Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) stations on November 4 in celebration of National Children’s Month, according to the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA).

The complimentary rides will be offered during peak commuting hours, specifically from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

“The free ride program will be implemented at all LRT Line 2 stations in support of the Council for the Welfare of Children under the Department of Social Welfare and Development,” the LRTA said.

The special transit program supports the 34th National Children’s Month, which highlights children’s rights and welfare.

“The initiative is among the activities marking the 34th National Children’s Month, focused on promoting the rights and welfare of children. It aims to provide young passengers a meaningful experience and raise awareness of the importance of protecting and empowering children,” the agency added.

While the program is active, designated priority boarding areas will continue to be reserved for senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities.

The LRTA also reminded commuters to follow all station policies, noting that standard security protocols remain fully operational across the transit line.
