Shifting Workforce Dynamics in the Age of AI
While Asia’s historically export-led, manufacturing-focused model has successfully kept regional unemployment rates low, TIME noted that the rapid integration of artificial intelligence is altering the modern professional landscape.
Addressing these macro shifts, Nanyang Technological University Associate Professor Trevor Yu emphasized that institutions must actively update how they manage human resources.
“They need to communicate transparently about how work is changing, acknowledge employees’ concerns about job transformation and retrenchment, and demonstrate that they will invest in helping people adapt,” Yu told TIME.
