MAKATI, Philippines — Team Arriza secured the championship title at G-Force Dance Center’s “The Competition 2026,” outperforming four rival groups during a high-energy dance showdown held on October 30 at the Proscenium Theatre.
Led by trainee Jhanie Santos and choreographed by Arriza Santos, the winning ensemble was one of five teams featured in the second installment of the annual event. The contest pairs professional choreographers—including Jeric Given Segui, Janell Pagdilao, Kyle Pabilona, Jerry Julianda, and Arriza—with trainee leads who share the responsibility of developing and executing their respective routines.
Unlike conventional dance showcases, this format emphasizes collaborative growth, requiring trainees to actively contribute creative concepts alongside their assigned mentors rather than strictly learning predetermined steps.
Performances were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges featuring entertainment figures Pops Fernandez, Darren Espanto, Shaina Magdayao, Jeff Albea, Dan Mejia, director Mike Carandang, and director Rowel Santiago.
G-Force Dance Center founder Teacher Georcelle noted that the initiative is designed to push students beyond technical execution and help them uncover broader potential.
“The Competition creates a space where students in our Training Program can do more than perform—they can discover what they’re capable of,” she said.
She further emphasized that collaborating closely with seasoned choreographers fosters essential leadership and partnership skills among young performers enrolled in the center’s training program, which accommodates diverse ages and skill backgrounds.
