QUEZON CITY RECORDS 29% DROP IN DENGUE CASES, SAYS 43 DEAD

QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The local government has logged 7,340 dengue cases from January 1 to November 5, 2026, marking a 29% decline compared to the 10,369 infections reported during the same period last year.

Despite the lower overall case count, city surveillance data showed that 43 people have died from dengue-related complications. Children aged 10 and below accounted for 44% of all infections, totaling 3,201 cases, while District 2 registered the highest concentration with 2,654 cases.

In response to the ongoing threat, the local government urged residents to ramp up search-and-destroy efforts and clean-up drives to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds. The public has been advised to keep water storage containers—such as drums, tanks, and buckets—tightly covered, use mosquito nets, wear long-sleeved shirts and pants, and apply insect repellent.

Authorities also reminded residents experiencing symptoms like fever, headache, and abdominal pain to seek immediate medical consultation. Free dengue testing and medical evaluations remain available across all city health centers.
