PARK BO GUM ADDS NATIONAL HAIRDRESSER LICENSE TO HIS CREDENTIALS

SEOUL, South Korea — South Korean actor Park Bo Gum has officially expanded his professional credentials, passing South Korea’s rigorous national technical qualification exam for general hairdressing on his second attempt.

The national examination is notoriously difficult, maintaining an average passing rate of only 20 to 30 percent. Park’s achievement marks a satisfying redemption for fans who followed his journey during the first season of his reality show, “The Village Barber.”

During production, the actor dedicated significant time to mastering complex hairdressing techniques, particularly perms. Despite his extensive preparation, he fell short on the practical portion of his initial exam.

Refusing to quit, Park continued his training alongside his ongoing acting schedule and preparations for the show’s subsequent season.

This latest milestone builds upon Park’s prior hands-on experience in hair care.

While fulfilling his mandatory military service in the South Korean Navy from 2020 to 2022, he previously learned professional barbering and successfully earned a national barbering certificate.
