TV host-comedian Vic Sotto has spoken about the future hosting role of his brother, re-elected Senator Tito Sotto, on the long-running noontime show E.A.T. Bulaga! as he prepares to return to the Senate.
Tito Sotto, who placed 8th in the 2025 senatorial race with over 14 million votes, is also being eyed for a possible comeback as Senate President in the 20th Congress.
In an interview, Vic clarified that his brother will no longer be seen daily on E.A.T. Bulaga! once his term officially begins at 12 noon on June 30.
“A, no, no, no. Hindi siya puwede mag-every day kasi priorities yan, e. Right now, priority niya is the Senate. Di naman puwede na pagsabayin yun,” Vic said.
“So, siguro on special occasions, he’ll be there. Nandoon lang siya ngayon kasi di pa nagsisimula yung kanilang term. Sa July 1st pa.”
Vic also proudly acknowledged his brother’s historic milestone of being the only senator in Philippine history to be elected five times.
When asked about his relationship with former Eat Bulaga! producer Tony Tuviera and the legal battle between GMA Network Inc. and Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE), now managed by the Jalosjos family, Vic clarified:
“Uh, no. We’re in touch with Mr. Tony Tuviera. He’s still a good friend of ours. Pero yung sa mga TAPE executives, wala na kaming contact,” he said, adding that their decision to leave TAPE and move to TV5 turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Vic also addressed a viral moment from the campaign trail where he referred to his son, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, as the “next President of the Philippines.”
“Ang gusto ko lang naman ipaalam, ipaabot sa mga nakikinig, next president sana ay katulad niya. Na may prinsipyo, may paninindigan, may political will, na good governance talaga,” he explained.
