Manila, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is set to officially proclaim the 12 winning candidates in the 2025 senatorial race on Saturday, May 17, at 3:00 PM.
COMELEC Chairman Atty. George Erwin Garcia confirmed in an interview that the commission has made all necessary preparations for the proclamation, which will be held at the at the Tent City of the Manila Hotel.
“We are just waiting for the formal recommendation of the supervisory committee. We were informed they will recommend the proclamation of 12 winning senatorial candidates based on yesterday’s (Thursday’s) ranking. We will have the proclamation by 3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday),” said Garcia.
Each member of the Commission en banc will be given the opportunity to hand out the certificates of proclamation to the newly elected senators.
Invitations are expected to be sent out to the 12 winning candidates within the day. The presumptive senators include: Bong Go, Bam Aquino, Bato dela Rosa, Erwin Tulfo, Kiko Pangilinan, Rodante Marcoleta, Ping Lacson, Tito Sotto, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, Lito Lapid, and Imee Marcos.
Meanwhile, the proclamation of the winning party-list groups is scheduled for Monday, May 19. Among the groups confirmed to have secured at least three seats each in the House of Representatives are Akbayan Partylist, Duterte Youth, Tingog, and 4Ps.
