VICE GANDA CALLS OUT PRIVILEGED LGBTQIA+ MEMBERS DURING PRIDE NIGHT SPEECH

Kapamilya comedian and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda delivered a pointed message during the LOVE3 Laban sa Diliman Pride Night held in Quezon City on June 28, urging privileged members of the LGBTQIA+ community to stand in solidarity with those who are less fortunate.

In front of a cheering crowd, Vice emphasized the importance of using one’s influence and resources to uplift others in the community.

“Hindi porke’t matanda ka na at may pera ka na ay iiwan mo yung mga tulad mo na hindi nakakakuha ng pribilehiyong nakukuha mo,” Vice said.

The comedian added, “Dahil ang pribilehiyo ngayon ay hindi dapat maging pribilehiyo mo lang—dapat maging karapatan ‘yan ng bawat isa.”

The remarks came in the wake of a controversial interview by TV host-actress Toni Gonzaga with LGBTQ+ fashion icons Ricky Reyes and Renee Salud, where the two opposed the passage of the SOGIE Equality Bill.

Their comments suggested that the bill might empower members of the LGBTQIA+ community to “abuse” their rights—a stance that was met with strong backlash online.

As voices grow louder in the fight for equality, Vice Ganda’s message stood out as a bold reminder of unity, empathy, and shared responsibility within the LGBTQIA+ community.
