VICE GANDA AND NADINE LUSTRE REUNITE FOR MMFF 2025 FILM “CALL ME MOTHER”

After nearly a decade, Kapamilya superstar and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda is set to reunite on the big screen with award-winning actress Nadine Lustre in the upcoming film Call Me Mother, one of the official entries in the first batch of the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The film, a comedy-drama written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jun Robles Lana, explores themes of motherhood beyond traditional definitions.

“Dito tinatalakay namin kung ano bang ibig sabihin ng maging isang “ina”?” said Lana during a visit to the It’s Showtime studio.

“Susundan natin yung character na gagampanan ni Meme (Vice’s) at kung paano niya kailangan paulit-ulit na patunayan na ang pagiging isang ina ay wala sa dugo, wala sa kasarian, kundi nasa pusong handang lumaban at mag-sakripisyo.”

Call Me Mother marks the second collaboration between Vice and Lana, following their box office hit And The Breadwinner Is…, which topped the 2024 MMFF.

It is also the third on-screen pairing of Vice and Nadine, who previously starred together in Petrang Kabayo (2010) and Beauty and the Bestie (2015), both commercial hits.

Produced by ABS-CBN Film Productions (Star Cinema), The IdeaFirst Company, and VIVA Films, Call Me Mother will premiere nationwide on December 25 as part of the 51st MMFF.
