Former Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo has publicly questioned Senator Imee Marcos’s sincerity in supporting the Duterte family, calling her “two-faced” and politically opportunistic.
In an interview with One News’ “Long Conversation,” Panelo criticized Marcos for allegedly using her association with former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte to further her own political ambitions.
“’Pag kailangan ka niya, okay. Kapag hindi, wala ka na… kailan [siya] umimik? Noong bumagsak na sa rating, biglang nag-imbestiga,” Panelo said, referring to Marcos’s recent actions following Duterte’s detention by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Panelo also claimed that Marcos remained silent when Vice President Duterte and Senator Bong Go were reportedly barred from entering Villamor Air Base while former President Duterte was being prepared for transport to The Hague, Netherlands.
“Balatkayo. She [Imee] uses people, ‘yan ang problema sa kanya,” he added.
Panelo went further, challenging Senator Marcos to prove her loyalty by disclosing her own brother, President Bongbong Marcos’s alleged past drug use—a long-standing rumor that has resurfaced since the campaign period.
He also dared her to lead an impeachment complaint against the President if she truly stands with the Duterte camp.
