Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV expressed disappointment with allies Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan over their plans to join the majority bloc in the upcoming 20th Congress.
In an interview with Facts First, a podcast hosted by former ABS-CBN journalist Christian Esguerra, Trillanes cautioned Aquino and Pangilinan, pointing out that the majority bloc may likely be composed of allies of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte—Trillanes’ long-time political rivals.
“Iba naman yung makikipag-alyansa sila (Aquino and Pangilinan) sa mga Dutertes, wag naman, wag naman,” Trillanes said.
He also voiced disapproval over former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo’s apparent support for Aquino and Pangilinan’s plan to align with the majority.
“Hindi ako sang-ayon sa pahayag ni VP Leni tungkol sa pagsali sa majority nina Bam at Kiko,” Trillanes added.
Trillanes has been a vocal critic of former President Duterte and led efforts to bring his administration to account before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
He remains a staunch supporter of Senator Risa Hontiveros, who, according to sources, is being persuaded by Trillanes to run for president in the 2028 elections.
