Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin confirmed that she has posted bail and will face the libel case filed against her by Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo, despite admitting she was surprised by the issuance of a warrant of arrest.
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 93 issued the warrant against Fermin and her co-hosts Wendell Alvarez and Rommel Villamor, with bail set at ₱48,000 each.
The case stems from the alleged “defamatory” statements the three made in their vlog, which Alonzo claims were damaging to her reputation.
“Wala kaming alam. Sinabi ko ngayon kay Rommel na may warrant kami at babayaran. Alam mo naman ‘yun hindi sanay, sila ni Wendell. Ako lang ang sanay na,” Fermin said when asked about the status of the case.
She added that she is accustomed to such cases, saying libel comes with the territory of her profession.
