MARCOS FUMES OVER ₱96.4M BULACAN FLOOD PROJECT

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has demanded answers from St. Timothy Construction Corporation after discovering its ₱96.4 million flood control project in Calumpit, Bulacan was incomplete despite official records showing it had been finished.

Marcos personally inspected the site on Friday with Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon and Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando, only to find the River Protection Structure half-done and useless to residents still suffering from severe flooding.

“St. Timothy ang kontratista dito kaya titingnan natin, kailangan pasagutin natin kung bakit ganito ginawa nila… mas mabuti pa dapat pumunta sila rito, makita nila gaano kahirap ang buhay na binigay nila sa mga kababayan natin,” a visibly furious Marcos said.

“Pambihira, this has been going on for years…” he added, slamming the contractor for the prolonged failure.

“Kailangan nila sagutin bakit ganito… anong, what possible excuse do they have for not doing this… hindi ko maisip,” Marcos declared.

The President also revealed that no dredging or desiltation was ever carried out in the area, further exposing the project as a sham. He has ordered the deployment of scuba divers to investigate what happened to the supposed flood control works.

The controversy deepened after Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto earlier revealed that two of the top 15 firms that cornered a large chunk of flood control contracts are tied to the businesses of his former political rival, Sarah Discaya. Among them: St. Timothy Construction Corporation.

As of now, St. Timothy has remained silent on the issue.
