PANGILINAN CALLS ON FILIPINOS TO REJECT “SINUNGALING” LEADERS IN 2028 ELECTIONS

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has called on Filipinos to stop supporting “sinungaling” and untrustworthy candidates in the upcoming 2028 national elections.

Speaking as the Guest Speaker at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health Commencement Exercises 2025 on Sunday, August 31, Pangilinan stressed the urgent need for voters to be more discerning when choosing the country’s next leaders.

“Wag na natin ihahalal ang mga magnanakaw at sinungaling sa 2028 (national elections),” Pangilinan declared in his speech.

His statement comes amid fresh controversies over alleged anomalies in flood control projects, where billions of pesos from public funds were reportedly wasted and pocketed by some officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along with several contractors.

Apart from his political warning, Pangilinan also paid tribute to the graduating medical students, underlining the importance of addressing the country’s shortage of healthcare workers.

“Dalhin ninyo ang inyong kaalaman at diploma kung saan kayo higit na kailangan—sa mga baryo, sa pampublikong klinika, sa paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan,” he urged.
