The boycott call launched by supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte against fast food giant McDonald’s appears to have had no effect.
McDonald’s confirmed that Kapamilya comedian and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda remains one of its celebrity endorsers, even releasing a new television advertisement featuring the comedian.

The boycott campaign was fueled by Duterte loyalists, including faded former sexy actress Vivian Velez, who urged the public to shun brands endorsed by Vice.
This followed a comedy skit during Vice’s concert with Kapamilya singer and ASAP mainstay Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, where Vice cracked a “jetski” joke alluding to Duterte and his situation before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Duterte is currently detained at the ICC Detention Center in The Hague, Netherlands, facing cases related to crimes against humanity stemming from his administration’s bloody war on drugs.
He is set to face confirmation of charges before the ICC on September 23 (Tuesday).
