MARCOS CELEBRATES 68TH BIRTHDAY WITH HOSPITAL VISIT, CHECKS HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. marked his 68th birthday on September 13 with a visit to Valenzuela Medical Center (VMC) in Valenzuela City.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the President was warmly welcomed by hospital staff and patients during his visit.

Marcos personally inspected the implementation of the Zero-Balance Billing Program (ZBB) at the hospital, a government initiative that ensures poor and vulnerable sectors of society can access affordable and quality healthcare services without out-of-pocket expenses.

Data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed that daily hospital admissions have risen to an average of 4,067 since the program was enforced.

The President also toured the hospital’s key facilities, including the pediatric ward, the Kangaroo Mother Care unit for preterm and low birthweight infants, and the surgery department.

The PCO added that Marcos witnessed the settlement of medical bills for three VMC patients—amounting to over ₱3.5 million—through the Bayad na Bill Mo Program.
