THINKAMUNA PILIPINAS LAUNCHED ON EAT… BULAGA! TO FIGHT FAKE NEWS, PROMOTE MEDIA LITERACY

For a more discerning Philippines, MediaQuest Holdings Inc. officially launched the THINKaMuna Pilipinas campaign, a nationwide Media and Information Literacy (MIL) initiative, on Saturday, September 13, during the Kapatid noontime program Eat… Bulaga!

The launch was held at Bataan Peninsula State University, where Mon Isberto of THINKaMuna Pilipinas highlighted the crucial role of televised media in promoting accurate information, especially among the youth.

“Ang THINKa Muna Pilipinas po ay isang adbokasiya na gustong tumulong sa ating mga kababayan kung paano mas maintindihan nang tama ang medyo nakaka-confuse na media and information landscape dito sa ating bansa,” Isberto said.

He further emphasized the urgency of MIL, citing the alarming rate at which fake videos and false news spread. According to him, misinformation travels up to seven times faster than verified information, making media literacy a national concern.
