TOKYO, Japan — Japanese voice actress Ai Furihata, widely known for voicing Ruby Kurosawa in the Love Live! franchise, will graduate from the idol unit AiScReam on March 27, 2026, official staff announced.
Her departure marks a notable lineup change for the crossover group, which has drawn international attention since its 2025 debut.
Furihata’s graduation will be commemorated during a special broadcast of the podcast Love Live! Series Official Card Game presents AiScReam no Torokeru Time, scheduled to stream on March 27. In a message to fans known as “Spoons” she expressed gratitude for their continued support and reflected on the success of the unit’s viral breakout track, Ai♡Scream!, which helped introduce new audiences to both her work and the broader Love Live! universe.
New lineup launches in April
Following Furihata’s exit, AiScReam will relaunch with an expanded lineup beginning April 10, 2026.
Continuing members Aguri Onishi (Ayumu Uehara, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) and Wakana Okuma (Shiki Wakana, Love Live! Superstar!!) will be joined by two new additions: Miu Miyake (Ceras Yanagida Lilienfeld, Love Live! Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club) and Rina Endō (Mai Azabu, Love Live! Ikizura-bu!).
Production staff confirmed that new AiScReam songs are already in development, with releases planned later this year as part of the group’s refreshed activities.
A cross-series success story
AiScReam debuted in 2025 as a special unit bringing together members from multiple Love Live! projects under the concept of “screaming for love.” Their debut single, Ai♡Scream!, gained viral traction particularly on TikTok raising the unit’s profile within the anime and idol communities.
Furihata’s graduation represents a transitional moment for the group and its fanbase. Supportive messages have circulated across social media as fans reflect on her contributions and look ahead to the unit’s next phase.
The March 27 podcast broadcast will mark Furihata’s final appearance as a member of AiScReam, while the April 10 program will introduce the group’s new formation.
