ANDRES AND ATASHA MUHLACH CLINCH GERMAN MORENO YOUTH AWARD AT 73RD FAMAS

Siblings Andres and Atasha Muhlach are set to make history at the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards, as both bag the coveted German Moreno Youth Achievement Award—a rare double victory that cements their status as the industry’s brightest young stars.

The German Moreno Youth Achievement Award, named after the late star builder German “Kuya Germs” Moreno, is one of FAMAS’ most prestigious special honors. It is annually presented to a male and female artist who have demonstrated outstanding promise in Philippine cinema.

At just the start of their careers, the Muhlach twins are already proving themselves unstoppable.

Andres Muhlach gained nationwide recognition through the hit digital series Ang Mutya ng Section E, and he is now gearing up for his big-screen lead role in the highly anticipated romance film Minamahal, opposite on-screen partner Ashtine Olviga.

Meanwhile, Atasha Muhlach has captured the public eye both as a co-host of the country’s longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! and as the lead star of the Philippine adaptation of Bad Genius: The Series, currently streaming on VIVA One.

The siblings also starred together in the TV5 sitcom Da Pers Family alongside their parents, showbiz couple Aga Muhlach and Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzales.

The 73rd FAMAS Awards will take place at The Manila Hotel on August 22, 4PM, celebrating not just the country’s best in cinema, but also the next generation of stars poised to carry the torch of Philippine showbiz.
