WILLIE REVILLAME DENIES SELLING PUERTO GALERA RESORT, SLAMS ‘FAKE NEWS’

A blind item headline from an online news site claimed that a celebrity-turned-politician allegedly sold a resort in Puerto Galera after falling into financial hardship following a painful election defeat.

Although he was not named, Willie Revillame said he knew the story was about him — and that it was nothing but an invented tale.

In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Revillame said the site had repeatedly published baseless reports about him. This time, he decided to speak up to prevent the public from being misled by what he called fake news that has no basis and damages reputations.

Revillame firmly denied being in financial trouble or selling his beach resort in Puerto Galera.

As proof, he said that just on Friday, August 1, 2025, he was with internationally acclaimed and multi-awarded furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue to design an events place at the property.

“Yung beach resort/hotel ko sa Puerto Galera, pampersonal ko yon, hindi pang-business,” Revillame said.

He added:

“In fact, magkasama kami ni Kenneth noong Biyernes, kasama niya ang mga designer niya. Inikot nila ang beach resort ko dahil sila ang magde-design ng events place ko.”

Revillame ran for senator in the 2025 midterm elections but failed to win a seat, placing 22nd in the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) final and official count.
