The fast-rising new generation loveteam of Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga — now better known as AshDres — couldn’t help but look back at their journey before reaching their current status as two of the most promising young stars of their generation.
During the media conference for their first film, “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna,” held on August 27, Ashtine shared how she once questioned whether she was meant to stay in showbiz at all.

“Siguro hindi ko po masasabing impatient, siguro mas more on parang dumating ako sa point na in-accept ko na if hindi ito yung para sa akin, parang willing ako i-give up sya, willing ako mag-take ng ibang career and ‘yun po yung 7 months po akong walang work tapos dumating po yung (Ang) Mutya ng Section E,” Ashtine admitted.
For Andres, following in the footsteps of his parents — award-winning actor Aga Muhlach and Miss Universe Philippines 1994 Charlene Gonzales — was something he and his twin sister Atasha had always been prepared for.

“Actually prior naman is we already knew, or we already kinda decide naman na it was going to go there, in that direction, mas inuna lang si Tash (Atasha) because she finished her studies before me,” Andres said.
He added:
“We already knew in our hearts that we want to do this and not only just for the sake of doing it but also given a chance to really work hard and give our best with our craft because we know that the industry is not an easy place.”
When asked if they might fall for each other like some other loveteams before them, Andres simply smiled and answered:
“Like you said, kung possible? Anything is possible.”
Ashtine echoed his answer with a playful tone:
“Same answer po. Hindi po natin masasabi pero tignan po natin.”
Fans can finally catch AshDres on the big screen as “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna” opens in cinemas nationwide starting September 24.
