COCO MARTIN RETURNS TO THE BIG SCREEN WITH TWO MAJOR FILMS UNDER REALITY ENTERTAINMENT

After several years, Kapamilya action star and Primetime King Coco Martin is finally set to make his long-awaited return to the big screen.

On Tuesday, October 14, it was officially announced that CCM Film Productions, owned by Martin, is teaming up with Reality Entertainment, headed by Dondon Monteverde—son of the late Regal Entertainment matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde—and acclaimed filmmaker Erik Matti.

Martin is set to star in two upcoming projects: “On The Job: Maghari” and “May Pagasa: The Battles of Andres Bonifacio,” slated for release in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

“On The Job: Maghari” serves as a prequel to the award-winning On The Job film franchise by Matti and will center on the backstory of Tatang (Mario Maghari), originally portrayed by Joel Torre.

Meanwhile, “May Pagasa: The Battles of Andres Bonifacio” will take a deeper look into the life of Andres Bonifacio, the revolutionary leader of the Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (KKK)—regarded by some historians as the country’s first true president.

In an interview, Martin shared that it has long been his dream to work with Monteverde and Matti.

“Nag-aabang ako na sana, mapansin nila ako. Pero hindi nila ako tinatawagan. Dumating na sa pagkakataon na parang tingin ko sa sarili ko, ‘Baka hindi pa ‘ko enough?’ Siguro sa mata ko kaya ko makapag-action, or drama, makaarte ng konti, pero siguro kanya-kanyang panlasa eh, so baka sa panlasa nila Sir Dondon at Direk Erik, baka hindi pa ‘ko enough,” Martin admitted.

Martin last appeared on film in 2022, opposite Jodi Sta. Maria, in “Labyu with an Accent,” produced by ABS-CBN Film Productions (Star Cinema) and featured in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) that same year.

Currently, Coco continues to dominate primetime television as the lead star, co-director, and co-producer of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” airing on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
