JUDY ANN SANTOS RECOGNIZED AS YOUNGEST HALL OF FAMER AT MMFF BOOK LAUNCH

Award-winning actress Judy Ann Santos was honored as the youngest actress to be inducted into the Hall of Fame during the launch of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) commemorative book, which highlights films that have graced the festival over the past five decades.

Santos secured her Hall of Fame status in the Best Actress category after winning the award three times—for Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo (2006), Mindanao (2019), and Espantaho (2024). She now shares the honor with the late National Artist Nora Aunor.

“I’m always, always greatful sa mga ganitong recognitions kasi atleast buhay pa ako, na naramdaman ko na iuuwi ko, makikita ng mga anak namin (yung award),” Juday said.

Also named as MMFF Hall of Famers were Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chair and veteran director Jose Javier-Reyes, production designer Erickson Navarro, and Lee Briones-Meily.

The commemorative book aims to celebrate the contributions of MMFF films to the development of Philippine cinema, while also paying tribute to legendary artists such as Aunor, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, Fernando Poe Jr., Dolphy, Christopher de Leon, Joseph Estrada, Bong Revilla, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, and Vic Sotto.
