The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has officially announced the start of script submissions for film producers interested in joining the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Through the festival’s official social media account, organizers revealed that beginning May 15, production companies may submit a letter of intent to participate in this year’s edition.
The deadline for script submissions is set for June 15 at 5 p.m., while completed films must be turned in by September 30 at 5 p.m.
In a previous interview last January, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said the agency plans to lower cinema ticket prices in response to the disappointing turnout of the 2025 MMFF.
The move aims to encourage greater audience participation and provide filmmakers with a wider platform to showcase their works during the highly anticipated festival.
