The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has confirmed that the final four entries for its 51st edition will be officially announced on Friday, October 10, under the finished film category.
According to MMFF’s official social media post, the announcement event will be held at the Performing Arts Theater of the University of Makati, with Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee and Frontline Pilipinas anchor Jervi Wrightson serving as hosts.
While the MMFF Executive Committee has yet to release the official titles, several sources have hinted that “Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie” by GMA Pictures and “Bar Boys After School” are among the possible contenders for the final lineup.
So far, four films have already been confirmed as part of the festival’s first batch of official entries:
- Call Me Mother from Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, and VIVA Films
- Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins from Regal Films
- Manila’s Finest from Cignal and MQuest Ventures
- Rekonek from Reality MM Studios
The eight official MMFF 2025 films will premiere nationwide starting Christmas Day, December 25 (Thursday), and will run until January 7, 2026.
