ON QUEZON’S 147TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, TBA STUDIOS DROPS FULL TRAILER OF HISTORICAL EPIC “QUEZON”

Coinciding with the 147th birth anniversary of the late President Manuel Luis Quezon, film production company TBA Studios unveiled on Tuesday, August 19, the official full trailer of its highly anticipated historical epic “Quezon.”

The film stars award-winning Kapamilya actor Jericho Rosales as Quezon, focusing on his journey from serving in the Philippine military during the fight against Spanish colonizers to his landmark candidacy in the 1935 presidential elections.

The movie also highlights key figures close to Quezon: his wife Doña Aurora Quezon (played by It’s Showtime host Karylle) and former Vice President Sergio Osmeña Sr. (portrayed by Romnick Sarmenta), who ran alongside him in the historic elections.

The political rivalry of the era is also brought to life, featuring portrayals of former President Emilio Aguinaldo (played by Mon Confiado) and former Iloilo Governor Raymundo Melliza (played by Bodjie Pascua), who clashed with Quezon and Osmeña at the polls.

Directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker Jerrold Tarog, Quezon is the newest installment in his ambitious “BAYANIverse”—a cinematic universe retelling the lives of the nation’s heroes through gritty, cinematic storytelling.

The film opens nationwide on October 15.
