After several years away from filmmaking, Senator Robin Padilla is set to make a big-screen comeback. The actor-turned-lawmaker has signed a content partnership with VIVA Films for the production of Bad Boy 3, the third installment of his iconic action franchise.
In an earlier interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Padilla admitted that the film has been his longest-delayed project, largely due to his decision to enter politics in 2022.
“Eleven years in the making ang Bad Boy 3,” Padilla shared.
He explained, “2014 kami nag-umpisa ng filming na nahinto lang nung pumasok ako sa pulitika.”
Padilla added, “Hindi as ako, pero marami akong tinulungan nung panahon na iyon, hindi ko na siya nagawa.”
He further recounted that the push to resume the project came from VIVA Films producer Vic del Rosario. “Last year, nagsalita na si Boss Vic… ‘Mukha yatang yung advance ko sa iyo…’ kaya po itinuloy ko na.”
Aside from Bad Boy 3, Padilla also granted VIVA the rights to showcase five of his previously released films on its platforms: Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Anak, 10,000 Hours, Turn: My Pledge of Love, and Alab ng Lahi.
