SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL: EVIL ORIGINS JOINS 2025 MMFF LINEUP, SET TO HAUNT CINEMAS THIS CHRISTMAS

Are you ready to feel fear again this Christmas season? Regal Entertainment’s Shake Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins has officially secured a spot in the first batch of entries for the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The horror anthology promises a chilling return as it introduces a mix of new-generation Kapamilya and Kapuso stars, including PBB Celebrity Collab housemates Dustin Yu and Ashley Ortega, and PBB Gen 11 housemates JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith.

Also featured in the cast are Loisa Andalio, Ysabel Ortega, Elijah Alejo, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin. Social media star and actress Ivana Alawi will also appear in the film.

Joining them are established names in Philippine entertainment: Carla Abellana, Richard Gutierrez, Kaila Estrada, and It’s Showtime host Ryan Bang.

Long-time fans of the franchise will be thrilled to see the return of horror veterans Janice de Belen and Manilyn Reynes.

De Belen is remembered for her role in the classic “Multo” episode from Shake Rattle and Roll 2, while Reynes earned the title “Horror Legend” with her memorable performances in the “Aswang” and “LRT” episodes of Shake Rattle and Roll 2 and 8 respectively—episodes widely regarded as among the franchise’s best.

Directed by Shugo Praico, Joey de Guzman, and Ian Loreños, Shake Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins marks the return of the beloved horror series that first terrified audiences in 1984.

The film will premiere in cinemas nationwide on December 25 as part of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival.
